Nice pics Mike. :thumbs

30053 is a dinky little loco, as is the Well Tank but what is amazing, is the length of the tender on 30120.   Imagine having to fetch the coal from the back of that beastie ……..:shock:

I agree with that Petermac. But it's Southern Railway who hadn't heard of Water Troughs so to get any distance out of the locos they had to have big tenders. I think those 8 wheelers were known as watercarts.

Nice one Mike. It is a beautiful looking loco. I'm in the process of building the Wills version with the wide cab.

Union Mills do a wide cab one in N gauge, I converted mine to narrow cab and an 8 wheel tender, they look much better in Maunsell dark olive!

The tender is form a Langley S15 kit, slightly over scale to fit over a Fleischmann drive; (I need more lining practice!)

Some nice photos of some very beautiful engines, but with an exception of one little green pannier… :mutley:mutley

Although I'll except the E Class (very nice) as it looks very similar to a M7 Class…. :hmm

Thanks for sharing Mick and Mike. Actually, panniers are ok, just in the wrong railway company ! :cool wink

Cheers, Gary.

Saw this yesterday heading along the Plym Estuary towards Laira Depot

Colas Rail Matisa B41U Tamper No. 75406 'Eric Mashell'. Ok it's not steam but you don't see them that often.

Anyone in the West Country who may be interested the first Steam Special of the year (down here anyway) will take place on Wednesday 1st April. It is the Cathedrals Express from Oxford to Kingswear. At the moment the loco pulling it will be  B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower'. Will put times up later when to hand.

Captured this yesterday travelling on the Plym Estuary in all it's yellow glory.

Network Rail's Measurement HST. 'The Flying Banana'. It was heading up the line and probably came out from Laira. There must be something going on as the Ballast Tamper I saw the other day was also heading out of Plymouth about half an hour later.
