Also that game that we invented and the aussis are showing us how to play.

Cricket, like Football, used to be a game, now it's just another media event.

Once the media get involved everything gets changed to make it more acceptable to the couch potatoes who crave "excitement" or so we are led to believe,so we go from a 3 day game to a Sunday Afternoon, and now 20-20.

Playing under floodlights so as to catch peak viewing times and simlar farces. From what I hear on the other side of the pond, games on the westcoast are played in the afternoon so they catch the evening peak viewing on the east coast

Cheers MIKE

Bit like football then, except everyone shows us how to play.

As every English "gentleman" will tell you, "It's the taking part that matters, not that nasty aggressive "must win" attitude"………………:cool wink

We discovered that saying almost as soon as we started losing …………:cheers

Baseball, I always thought that game is akin to rounder's, a game we played in junior school. ;-)

Very true thou, i mean they saw our Rugby game, pinched it but found it was very aggressive so they wear pads to protect themselves bless them.
They also pinched our F1 but all they do is run the cars round in circles, why do they do that ?

Because they are American, running around in ever decreasing circles etc.

Sorry to any American member, I just couldn't resist.

If it wasn't for the Americans, we wouldn't have had a school to go to - or anything to eat come to that -  the Liberty Ships, dodging the Wolf Packs, remember them ? or the very few that didn't end up on the bottom of the Atlantic crewed by American seaman who weren't even armed or even at war .

No, nowt wrong with the Yanks guys, they gave us kids chocolate and our mums nylons, it's just that they speak a different language that's all - and can't play football - yet.

No, I have nothing against American people, I served with them while I was in the armed forces. Just some of the games they play. How can you have a world series when the only country to play in it is the Americans?

Always try to look on the bright side of life!
