Been quite a while between drinks but reading about other layouts & the changes, this is one  station Marabost  that will undergo some changes ( the name is based on the operators on the D&S)
As it is now - the two tracks on the right hand side all relate to another station Watchit….




As the main platform is not long enough for a 4 coach train  plus loco, there will be some changes.
The wall that separates the platform  from the track with the distant DMU comes down, that DMU track  will be re-worked back into Marabost and the wall rebuilt to separate the right hand track that serves another station; main platform will be extended and a small bay for parcels, etc .
So over the next few weeks ( after I have installed a replacement control panel), I will have photos of demolition & rebuild.

Major upgrade there Ron look forward to watching you develop it.

I too look forward to seeing the upgrade… and pleased I am not alone in making changes to my track.  Don't feel such a numpty now!

Brian, the top RH arrow is the entry/exit for Marabost


the bottom LH arrow is what goes across the liftup

Presumably, the idea is that the left hand "Watchet" track will become a platform track on Marabost thus giving a full length platform face rather than the existing 2 bays which effectively cut the length in half………….. :hmm

Knowing how you work, I'll look forward to seeing the finished altertions in about 20 minutes ………………………..

Peter, one of my mates is going to a video using a camera on a flat car pushed around the layout very soon and I don't think I will get this work finished in time.
I will take photos as I demolish & rebuild.

I'll look forward to the video Ron - it will give a real "feel" to the layout - "Solly Productions Inc." …………..you could pose Marty's Miss Davies on the wagon for advertising…………..then it really would be a "flat car" ……….  

In the meantime, we'll enjoy the stills of the demolition and rebuild ………….. :thumbs

Good luck with the rebuild Ron…….I will follow with interest. Its your constant search to improve the D&S operationally that inspires me to keep modifying Granby’s track

Lovely to see the D&S again Sol, 
The current two tracks associated with Watchit are storage tracks aren’t they. Does the reduction in storage space  mean a reduction in traffic to Watchit or a rearrangement of the timetable to suit the reduced space.

Nice to see the greenery and buildings too.

Marty, one of the tracks currently is West Watchit, the other going over the liftup is the entry/exit for Watchit.

The video has been done today by a mate who is learning how to edit & post it into Youtube so I have started

The bay platform came up easy as it was not joined by much - just the paper top

That's a benefit to papercraft scenery.

You really must post more photos Sol - I forgot how good the D & S is.  It all looks very "normal" and realistic.

This photo suggests this isn't the first time there have been major alterations here ……………………..I can see the outline of previous track work under where the bay platform sat…………… :roll:  As I said, more photos please !!!

Good progress there Ron is the new terminus platform meant for a end to end shuttle service?

Brian, there ws a 2 car DMU service that started from the bay but will become a 3 car service when all track work completed.
