A couple of pictures of the Scale Scenes foot bridge in N which I have just finished, well apart from a bit of weathering.

Its a very nice little kit that builds up well.

You make that Scalescenes stuff look great, Ron.  I've seen some of Sol's in the flesh as well.  They look like even I could make a fist of it.

I've got to do some for my AP in the coming months.  You've got me inspired.  :thumbs

Terry I would certainly recommend it if you are after a decent footbridge.

The kit is quite versatile and you can adjust the length to suit your needs. Should you want a longer span you simply print an extra copy and adjust the length to suit there is even some cover strips for when you have to join two sections to increase the length.

Max, they do not count as part of scratchbuiling so I have been told.

So, they won't accept anything using Scalescenes prints?

I am led to believe that is correct but if you drew it out on paper & used Scalescenes papers, etc,  is OK.
 Using anything that is pre-drawn (and any of those downloadable kits are pre-drawn) is not classed as scratchbuilt but as Kit construction  but get Ray to get it confirmed?

I was just going to cover it with Scalescenes paper.

Part of the scratch building process is to show the development of the building from sketches through to working plans.

I wouldn't use a Scalescenes kit because that would be kit building.  Just the paper to show the brickwork.

If they think I'm going to draw each brick, they've got another think coming.

You have it Max,  That is OK.  I have 4 to go but have no plans or sketches to show for the 2 I have done.

I have now started on my 00 version but it will be modified as it goes from platform up & over an adjoining road to a high level parking area



so instead of steps each end at right angles to the span, one set will be in line with the span and higher. Good Fun !!

This shows the differences in walls- the top one is as per the printed output; the bottom is the new one - higher & longer

I  was enjoying myself building the footbridge - done part of it  with the steps & took it out & sat it on the platform & said " S###"

I thought I had it level with the car park are but it is about 5-7mm too low so three options

1. completely redo the sides & make it bigger & longer - not my first option

2. Instal the unit on a "concrete" plinth of 5-7mm

3. have the  ramp which will 20 cm in length  over the road,  on a slope of about 5mm over the length


I think Option 3 is my choice.

Many access bridges had a slope built into them for a variety of reasons - I'm sure miscalculation must be one of them ……….:cheers:cheers

Miscalculation - no way - the car park must have been raised after the earthquake !!! 

Maybe they resurfaced the car park after the levels had been taken for the footbridge Sol ………….:roll::roll::roll:

more done - roof to be added & then the span which will be on a slope.



If  used all steps - 12 per group, then the height would be almost spot on for a level span and the side buttresses the same  but at least this is unique !



the span itself will need a lot of modifications - far wider this way that originally planned by Scalescenes.

Looks good Ron……….in fact that whole scene looks very promising
