(Patent Pending) !!!!

Not having a small block of wood handy to press down my scale ballast into the pva, I grabbed the nearest item, an AA battery !

Works a treat as a gravel roller.:lol:

Don't put it in your camera - it might never come out again.

I presume your layout is "OO" gauge Ray.  If it had been "N", you would have to use a AAA battery ……………..:roll:

Not a bad idea - beats using your finger …….:cheers

Yes Peter, it is OO but I was using N gauge ballast!

The benefit is that the ballast doesn't stick to the smooth surface, unlike your finger.

How do you know that Peter's finger sticks to ballast? I don't remember him mentioning that.

Did you also know that there's a place called Petersfinger near Salisbury?

I'm positive it does, he needs to be charged with that.

If anyone wants a ballast roller I have a great big pot of 00 & N gauge ones waiting to go down the re-cycling centre that I could let people have cheaply :-)

Just stuck my multimeter on them and some are flat and some are not quite flat, how flat do you want them, some are still reading a nominal 1v

Warren, Just try them in a torch, the one that sticks is your roller, easy as. Jeff.
