Stray track pin, strand of wire? 

I spend time tracing a fault on my old Yarslow layout only to discover that it was my pliers sitting on the track.

And I bet you said some unkind words to the owner of said pliers….        and you wouldn't be the only modeller to do that…

Could have been a tiny bit of wire, but I'll never know now cos it's gorn up the 'oover.
