I tried that as well, Pete.  The water shorted out the motor.

Hi, Pete.  Yes.  I got a replacement MX 645 from Jeremy at Digitrains and also sourced one from Art Luescher at MRS.  I've had some distractions over the past few weeks, but I'm ready to launch myself back into it.

I've downloaded the HO/OO and G scale manuals and printed them off.  I just need to sit down and read them.  Zimo isn't going to be as user friendly as Loksound, but given the direction recently taken by ESU, we need a substitute ; at least in the short term.

Paul Chetter and others have mastered Zimo, so I'm hopeful that I will come to grips with it as well - given time.   Paul and the other guys on ukdccsound and the Zimo forum have offered me guidance, so I'm confident at this stage.  I should be able to add Zimo to my presentation in September with any luck.

Cheers
