At the moment I am really busy and getting a couple of hours per week to work on my layout is about all I can manage.
Every now and then I'm lucky enough to spend an afternoon of 4 or 5 hours on the layout but haven't done that for a couple of months.

I am very fortunate that my dear wife takes care of all the car maintenance, decorating, gardening, roof tiling etc that needs to be done (she says its enough reward for me to allow her to play with my trains in the evening!

Is this per day or per week? Both periods are mentioned at the top.

If I have some spare time on one (or more  ) of my days off, then I probably put in a few more hours there too.
So, 6-days per working week x 2 hours per day = 12 hours, plus perhaps 2 x 4 hours sessions on my days off; maybe a total 20 hours a week or so.
Well, scratchbuilt goods sheds and revolving fiddle yards don't build themselves, you know.
