Not that I'm going to build an MPD you understand, but can anyone tell me which issue of BRM featured Maindee, please? I just might be able to obtain a back number and see what's involved. Thanks.

Nov 2005 Vol 13, No.8 [then £3.10p]

Doug,

I have just been searching the 'net for some more info on Maindee MPD. One reference I have found states that the British Railway Modelling magazine article was November 2006 - not 2005 as stated above. Whilst not doubting the information you so kindly provided is correct, could I ask you just to verify the year for me, please. Typos do 'hapen'……….:???:

Thanks.

Perry i have a July issue 2005 of Model Rail. In this is a very good piece called Shed Bash. It shows you various depots to give you some idea what they looked like, there is a piece on a engine depot layout which is very good. Also a piece on how to build an Ash Pit.

If you want i can send this copy to you, i will not need it and as your going to build either a Shed Depot or MOD this would come in handy mate :pathead:mutley:mutley

So let me know and i send ASAP, after all strike while the iron is hot and all that. :thumbs

I have finally acquired a copy of the BRM issue containing the Maindee East feature. It looks very good and has provided a few ideas I could use - if I ever get around to building an MPD layout. :???:

Thanks to all who pointed me in the direction of various MPD-related magazine articles. :thumbs

It's going to happen; I'm going to build an MPD layout. :Happy

I have stated elsewehere on the forum that I have decided to scrap East Walsham and concentrate on this new project.

Hello Perry

I will be building a four road engine shed in an MPD with coaling stage (Cenotaph), ash plant etc once my railway room is completed. I will post fotos as soon as possible - but it will be at least six months before that happens
