The slow motion posting is back, at least from down here 'tiz, as it's taking between 10 and 20 seconds for a post to go up on the site. Not really a life changing issue, but it's producing a grumpy grrr from time to time!

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

28 seconds.

Not sure what the Return link is Martin, but I only ever use the same method of posting (not the quick reply) via the Reply button,  by hitting the 'send' once the message is typed. It was fine before today.

The Return link is a kludge which I added to cure the apparently slow posting.

It isn't really slow, everyone else sees the post immediately. Only the sender has to wait a fortnight to see it.

Clicking the Return link causes you to pretend to be someone else, and see your post immediately. :)

Still waiting for someone who can access the server settings to fix the underlying problem.

Martin.

Thanks again Martin and I can live with it, as it really isn't a problem. I went back through the thread, as I remembered that you added the 'kludge' and found it. Cheers and thanks for being here to help us with fewer IT cells - they're probably not even grey  ;-)

Edit: 2second post posting edit: it works ! !  :doublethumb

I haven't been able to get onto the site for a while.  It times out with the page less than half loaded.  Today it has loaded within a second or two so I shall see if the reply also still takes a while.

Same as before; it takes over a minute to refresh and show me the post has been displayed but it actually posts and is visible to others immediately.

Hi Rick,

After you click Send, click the blue Return link which appears in place of the button. Your post will display immediately.

Martin.
