Just an update.

I spoke to Chris Trerise (of Kernow Model Rail) whilst the forum was down this morning.  He told me Brian (Briperran) had been rushed into hospital 24 hours ago.

As many of you know, Brian has been having cancer treatment over the past several months and, whilst Chris didn't have details, he did say the problem was related to either the cancer or the treatment.

I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Brian all the very best for a speedy recovery from this set-back.

I will of course, keep you informed of any further news.

Peter,
Thank you for passing on the news.  We do wish Brian the best of course.  I know he has been far from well of late and he hasn't chatted as often as he used to.

I am assuming he went to Treliske or was he taken straight up to Derriford?

Thank you Peter for letting us know of Brian's hospital admission. I thought I hadn't seen him here for a while and like us all, will keep him in my thoughts and trust he is as comfortable and pain free as possible.

  Very kindest wishes Brian,

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

No idea Rick.  Chris didn't give me any details beyond those I've posted.  He was of course, hard at work so was pressed for time.

I have tried ringing Brian's partner but have only been connected to an answer phone.  As and when I have news I will pass it on.

Thanks Derek.

I had hoped to hear more from Chris (Trerise) today but nothing so far.  If you can contact Beena Derek, please ask her to pass on our best wishes to Brian.

Spoken to Brian's partner just now.  Brian had a blocked intestine and is undergoing treatment in hospital by the oncologist. I have his mobile number but he is not responding at the moment.  Further updates as and when.

Thank you Derek.  Better news than it might have been.  I suspect Brian still has a way to go but we wish him all the best.
