Thanks for that, Michael,

Little  modelling getting done lately, I did four eight-hour days last week  at thr SDR so suitably bushed come home-time!
I also have a box exam on, believe it or not, on Friday 13th August, much studying of the rule-book.

Bon courage for Friday Doug  :thumbs

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Four 8-hour days and an exam sounds like a full time job!  I bet you are enjoying it though.  All the best with the exam, may the God of Questions Setters smile on you!

Looks brilliant to me. I was going to also suggest Luke for the hay.
Looking forwards to seeing it in place.

Good luck with the exam Doug - will it mean more money if you pass ?

When you say 8 hours a day, surely you don't mean 8 hours of work a day - I gave that sort of day up when I "retired" - now I work at least 10 hours a day !!!!

Going back to the bales, if you coated them with some straw coloured static grass fibres, just laid flat not applied with a static machine that might give you the texture you need.

Talking of bales. I've got some plumbers hemp and I reckon  that'd make great bale material, but I'm not sure you can buy it nowadays. As it happens, when I think about it, it'd probably be smoked nowadays.

Thank you all for your wishes and encouragement, I'm not going to scream and cry if I don't get passed out, the examiner, Ian Wannell  is a very senior and highly  respected Signalman, and if he says I'm  not  ready, then I'm  not. I shall respect his decision  either  way!

I've had mine for about 25 or more years. I'll get round to using it one day.

Cheers Pete.
