More dabbling in different scales/gauges

Hi Ed.  Thank you for your reply. Is that why EM fans faff around with wheels axles and track? and don’t rate the attempts of OO Modellers. To me that is worse than Rivet Counting. Best wishes Kevin

Basically, yup

EM and P4 modellers are doing their own thing, which is great for them and good luck to 'em.

Personally, I only want to represent a railway that looks good to me, I ain't bothered if it isn't exactly a scaled down version of the real thing.

Life's too short.

Hi Ed.  Thank you again. EM and P 4 carry the same passengers as any other gauge. Best wishes Kevin

Grafar Prairie chassis, modified. LOL/BOL. Shows how long ago the kit was designed. When I was doing this I found that with w/m kits in 4mm Bachmann USA N-scale chassis were better due to the smaller scale of 1:160 rather than UK 1:148. Wheels looked more narrow gauge.

Seen a few Prairie chassis on UK ebay Nigel, but I'm trying to avoid really old ones with pizza cutter wheels.

Hi Ed.    Best wishes, but I don’t know if I will around that long, that to see it finished the way I am feeling? It is being cheerful that keeps me going . Best wishes Kevin

Chin up Kevin, as my old Mum used to say, "there's always someone worse off than you".

Hi Ed.  Yeah well, but when I had high blood pressure before and it went too low they stopped the tablets, but they were different. And this time I feel so rotten that I can hardly stand up. Best wishes Kevin

Couple of pictures of the bridge I've been (very slowly) working on.

Done with my phone and a bit out of focus, very little light in here and I forgot it will be getting dark earlier today.

Thanks Claus, although as someone on another forum pointed out, I think I got the buffer stop the wrong way round

Not much done as domestic duties have taken priority.

However, I have bought a couple of bit of rolling stock which are special editions by AGR models of Leighton Buzzard. (normal disclaimer).

A mail van and most recently a 'Private' Observation Coach, which arrived yesterday.

AGR Model Railway Store

Took a picture yesterday, but it's cold and dark in the garage, so I didn't want to stay out there too long.

The camera flash has made the mail van look orange for some reason  :hmm

Just brought the layout in from the garage, where it's been sitting since before Christmas.

Had to spray contact cleaner on a couple of the points, but otherwise Skarloey has run along quite happily.

Got to be something to do with the graphite I've used on the rails,  must stop them tarnishing quite so much when the layout isn't in use.

So a big yipee.

First ground throw installed. Going to need blobs of black paint on the screw heads though.

A few pictures of where I'm up to.

I'm afraid they're a bit dark and out of focus, but it's the best I can do with where the layout is in the kitchen.

First, an overall view.

I'm not sure the trees to the left of the warehouse backs will stay, for the moment they're just plonked there.

View from above the water tower towards the industrial siding and fiddle yard.

View from the bridge towards the station.

You might be able to make out some coal pens behind the station, again they're plonked an may not stay.

(Static grass didn't turn out too bad)

Finally the industrial siding.

The shed and tree on the left may not stay, can't make up me mind

You can see a coach behind them, which is actually in the fiddle yard.
