I can just imagine trying to scenic around the edges is going to be a right pain if the glass is in the way.

I made the module out of 3mm or 5mm MDF, I can't remember which, probably 5mm. Cheap as chips, light weight and surprisingly strong.
It ended up like this….
Just a thought.
I've got more photos of construction if they are of any help.
cheers

Plus with all in closed in was thinking the dust would be kept at bay and tiny hand at bay and cats lol

Would be handy to know to what size of area as to what size of vivarium to get
And if I can get any bigger would be a bonus as more track can be fitted

I like that having it enclosed will mean it will not accumulate dust/fluff so quickly! Like keeping hi-fi, books, DVDs etc in a cabinet with glass doors rather than an open shelf unit. So, I think there is for and against with the idea.
Even with my hoisted layout it'll have panels around that can be removed so it does not seem so enclosed when using it, at least on the front edge the side will be removeable.

Just moved house. A new railway plan is inevitable. Watch this space.

Yeah was trying for 00 but it would have been limited from an interest side of things as would not had much track for shunting about plus I've got (negotiated) for an extra foot of length with the vivarium so n gauge would make most of the extra spaceAh ha, you've gone N gauge for the Lounge layout Stuart, that'll make a difference :thumbs
