Venus and Jupiter

Hi Pete

I can't take credit for the picture which was taken by my good friend Malcolm Ellis who is a very keen amateur astromomer. Io and Callisto have blurred together in the low resolution picture. The other objects are all distant stars.

The photo of Venus and Jupiter  was taken on his "Small camera"  He also has a very large telesope with software that compensates for the rotation of the Earth and enables him to take photos of distant galaxies

This is an example of what it can do - this is a photo, taken from his back garden in Sydney,  of the Trifid Nebula  -  a mere 5000 light years away.   He gets even better shots when he goes bush with his equipment.

That's a cracking photo, I've only been doing it a couple of years and given the weather here it can be difficult!
Here's one of my efforts!
