Tarting up the Lima model

A great result John and a significant improvement on the original. I think the fine detail, especially to the underframe makes all the difference.

Here's a couple of pics taken in the sunshine:

This in preparation for an article I've been asked to write on the upgrade.  Don't get excited, it's for the BRMNA Journal not a mainstream mag.

I'm just doing some catching up John, so a bit behind I'm afraid.

The shots of the finished article are truly stunning.

There were times when I wondered if fitting a miniscule bit of wire here or an underfloor brace there, was just going a bit OTT but, when you see those last 2 shots, you realise just how much of an improvement there is.   Until you see all the "proper bits" fitted, you trust the manufacturers to get it near enough right.  Once they're all there, it jumps right out at you and says "Wow", that's a miniature version of the real thing - not a "model" afterall. :thumbs:thumbs:thumbs:thumbs

Excellent result and well worth all the effort. :cheers  You must be pleased.

…and it's not even weathered yet!  I made some transfers for the solebar that I need to put on too.

Many thanks Peter. :Happy  A lot of work but a good result I think.

I added my homemade transfers the other day:

I'm quite pleased with the solebar script, it adds a special touch I think.  I'm less pleased with the load script in the RH corner.  I didn't match the colour perfectly.  I'm hoping that weathering will blend it in.  Fingers crossed.
