Some birds of prey

You can't beat a long legged bird. Need to get some really good shots of the herons and large egret yet, but I'm working on it.

What with ?  The herons, egrets or any birds with long legs ?

We often see egrets standing on the backs of the cattle in the fields.  Mr Sod always insists I don't have my camera with me at the time ………………… but I'm working on him.:twisted::twisted:

They will be the Cattle Egret Petermac. They have a yellow bill instead of the black bill of the Little Egret. We have them over here as well, especially on the Exminster Marshes.

Snapped this little beauty today on the Plym Estuary. It's an Adult Buzzard.

And this Cormorant.

Hi Bittern

Two great images , even more so the buzzard as you have managed to keep it sharp.

The Cormorant is also quality with the reflection etc. well taken.

Hi,

A quickie for Bittern and anyone else of a photography based persuasion. I received my £ 18.00 ring flash from China today.

I have not included a photo or any details of it in this post as my camera ( Let me correct that, SWMBO's camera ) is currently being charged as the batteries just pinked out.

I'll catch up with it later.

cheers

Hi Bittern,

Here are a couple of snaps of the above ring flash. Still to get the batteries and will do so this week at some point in order to try it out.

First up,

and next, a photo of the hot shoe attachment and ring flash unit.

and the various adaptor rings for fitting to the various size lens diameters,

well,

thats about it. Can't go wrong for £18.00 quid. As I have said previously, I have seen the same model in use and I have seen some of the resultant images. They are very good indeed. That was in the hands of another amateur. Admittedly a very good amateur. He uses a Nikon D90.

and queries with regards to the above …….. fire away.

cheers for now

Hi Ed,

No problem. I don't want to labour the point but it is a terrific product for the money and it does work very well.

Hi Mike,

The colours in the Mallard and the pheasant are terrific. I like the oily green colours on the mallards head.
Nicely taken.
