Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout

I’m only allowed two photos it seems..

Tonight I started a job I’ve wanted to do since near enough starting the layout. I’ve always had a wire or two trailing across the garage floor to the eLink and laptop etc. I’ve also had an extension off an extension which is never best practice…

I now have a 6 way and the eLink connected to the wall (rather than using blue tack as previous). The connection to the bus has now moved across to this side. I still need to move to power to the Ardino but it’s on the way. I plan to build a shelf for the laptop and controller for the bike rather than sitting on the workbench as they have since Teasel was first connected!

I have also taken some time to mount the 009 layout. I’ve added inward facing sliders so as I place it and push it back it slides into a consistent spot. It it then connected to the bus using a usb extension cable. Enables me to pull it off and work on it inside in the winter months.

Continued work to set the narrow valuable railway this evening. Now in place and working. Started work this evening to block it off.

The second photo shows how a new view of Teasel through the cutting.

Back to Teasel…

Finally wired everything around the garage, no more trailing wires across the floor, only took 5 years… next is to build a shelf for a propped control area. The laptop has been perched on the cutting workbench since day one!

Continued building up the bank which separates the 00 and 009 layouts using my standard practice of foam and then Sculptamold.

Also got the APT out and had a play through Norcot station.
