Just checking in to say hello.I live on the Hebridean island of Islay which is great for whisky, but not for access to model shops, model railway clubs or shows.
In my retirement, I have returned to the hobbies of my childhood, amateur radio (MM0UMH) and (recently) model trains. I've only just started putting my layout together and I suspect that I will be looking for a fair bit of advice.

Although I live in a wine producing village (have just returned from a vineyard visit), I have a great fondness for your local produce, including the gin!
Have a good look around the threads and archives and do tell us of your plans.
Best,
Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

It shows what can be achieved out there.
Which reminds me I must do some updates to the thread..
Now I've finally started a model railway…I've inherited another…

Welcome to this wonderful and very friendly forum.
John :)
Oh, Dr Beeching what have you done?
There once were lots of trains to catch, but soon there will be none.
I'll have to buy a bike, 'cos I can't afford a car.
Oh, Dr Beeching what a naughty man you are!

A great bunch of lads and lasses on here.
We would all be interested to know what scale and era you will be modelling.

A very warm welcome to the mad-house. Have a look around then, when you need to, ask away - someone on here will be able to answer whatever - there's a wealth of knowledge, experience and skill amongst our members, every one of whom will be delighted to help.
