Dawlish and Exeter in the 1930s (and modern day)
HiThought I'd introduce myself to this website by posting something about my model railway, the plan for which is shown below. This is taken from my plan of the month article published in Railway Modeller March 2012 which explains more about the rationale for the railway and its design.
In summary I spent 3 years at university at Exeter and always dreamed of building a model of Exeter St. David's station.
The link below is one of a few videos I've recorded of the Dawlish section which is reasonably well advanced.
- hopefully this works! There are a few others there as well.
I'm now working on the Exeter bit - all the track is laid apart from the Ilfracombe section which has not been started. I've ballasted about half the Exeter track and put up some photographic backscenes which makes a difference.
So far I've run 1/2 day of timetable which I've designed from a 1930s timetable I managed to get my hands on.
If anyone is interested I can do a separate post on that explaining my thinking there
Suppose I ought to get back to work

Welcome Peter,
Bill
At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Nice layout, travelled that route often when going back to Cornwall.
