Saying hello

Hi to you all,Here I am a new member joining this club to further my railway modelling skills. My interests are OO guage of any period time wise so I've a lot of modern image and a good selection of steam. My loft layout, in its early stages, contains a large figure of eight track which starts on the low level enters a tunnel continues under the hill side and begins to climb an incline then exits the hill side higher from another tunnel proceeds along above the station and begins its decline entering the hill side again descending to its original low level and back to its beginning. For a lot of modellers my inclines are a no no but for me I've turned my 12 foot by 8 foot track space and doubled it so my locomotives increase their drive time including my old Lima diesels that cope with the incline very well. I look forward to reading and looking at other peoples layouts to gain useful modelling ideas. A big thanks to any one who reads this.

Welcome to the club Mike.

How about some more details and photos - start a new topic rather than use the welcome one.

Thanks for the reply and yes I will further my layout information plus pictures but being new at this I don't want to make to many mistakes as I already have  :???:….. thinking I could add to my first mail only to find out I just did it twice and the second mail had the extra words. As with everything else we learn by our mistakes.

'Ello 'ello from France Michael,

You will certainly be able to progress your modelling skills here, so let us know your plans.

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

A very warm welcome from another French exile Mike.

Looking forward to seeing more of your layout - it sounds interesting.

Enjoy yourself on here and, if you have any questions, just ask - there's more skill and knowledge on here than you could absorb in a lifetime !!

A warm welcome Mike from a not so warm Spain.

You mention an old Lima diesel. Are you modelling a DC or DCC powered layout?

There are many in this club that will be able to assist you with your future ideas, just ask. I have many a time.

Gary
