Hi all,
After following your club for a while,  I have decided to apply for membership. I am in my early sixties and had a model railway round my bedroom in the early seventies. Railways as an interest was inherited from my father.
As usual things interest waned, marriage, mortgage and kids. However I now have the time and space to build a model railway in the shed which has been ongoing for  a few years.
By  joining your club I hope to share my experiences and hopefully pick the brains of other members!
I live in Radstock nr Bath , Uk and my layout is based on 3 articles by Peter Kazmierczak in June ,July & Aug 1987 Railway  Modeller. Its a fictitious branch off the S &D nr Evercreech Junc to tap into stone & dairy traffic off the Mendips.
However, due to the many excellent western region models now out,I am going to run the layout in different settings as  a WR steam/ early diesel  eras.
Looking forward to join the club in this great hobby.
 Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to your friendly forum where we all like to share our experiences.

Your railway modelling CV follows those of many others here, my own included and your railway seems to have an interesting basis, so we’re looking forward to learning more.

  Speak soon,

  Best,

  Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Welcome to the forum Dave, as Michael (Headmaster) said, we're pleased you took the plunge after following us for a while.

We're a friendly bunch with, collectively, a massive amount of knowledge - all of it willingly shared.

Looking forward to seeing Radstock North develop.  :thumbs  Will it be DC or DCC and what scale/gauge ?

Welcome aboard Dave.  there are no silly questions here so please ask away and we will try to answer.
I am in my early sixties and had a model railway round my bedroom in the early seventies.
Sir - you have already distinguished yourself by going backwards in time.  Please tell us the secret.

For fans of "About Time" it only works being the eldest male son and you can only go back so far …..   :mutley

If you seek inspiration for things WR do take a browse through my embedded links in the signature.  You might find something of interest.

 :Welcome :hi :cheers
