Hello Richard and a warm bonjour from France,

Your scratch building techniques must be sharpening up now you've switched to modelling 3mm. Brave man and we're all looking forward to seeing what you've been up to.

Best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Welcome "home" Richard.   :cheers

You've certainly chosen a fun gauge to model in.  In a previous life, I had a small "TT" layout and Shaun (Gastwo) recently modelled a local (to him) line in 3mm.

There is no doubt in my mind that it was "the" ideal scale - N is too small for old, tired hands and eyes, OO is great but requires lots of space to have anything approaching realistic length trains and O requires an overdraft and hanger to house it in.   Alas, it failed to catch on.

3mm is a current topic of admiration at my MRC.  Looking forward to seeing your layout.

Hello again Richard.
Long time since we had our last cup of tea together and a chinwag about trains (instead of working).

Best wishes,

Terry
