I'm an old NEW member signing back on. I was once on here, many many moons ago in another lifetime.
For the life of me I could not recall my user name and corresponding password. Life got in the way, an awful relationship break up, unsociable working hours, followed by serious health issues, and my lust for forums waned somewhat.

All that being said I managed to stay alive and rebuild a 00 gauge layout to while away the quiet time I spend at night.

So here I am back into the fold - living the dream!

Hi Tony and welcome back to YMRC. You seem to have been well and truly through the mill, but are still alive and kicking and with a railway to boot, so not all bad then.

Here's hoping you find some more stability here, do tke a look round to see what's new and come chat soon.

Best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Welcome from France Bruce - there's an architypical Australian name for a real man !!!

Fear not regarding your electrical worries - you're certainly not alone although there are those on here who can answer every question you ask.  Unfortunately, that's not me because I'm firmly in your camp !!

A warm welcome back Tony and a warm welcome Bruce from sunny Spain.

Bruce, I have nearly finished swapping my solenoid point motors over to Tortoise slow action motors. They run off toggle switches and I have LED's connected from the switches too for my mimic board. If you get into difficulty, I will try and help.

once again many thanks for the warm welcome, I think Bruce was a little confused about where to post however we all have to get used to how these forums work.

As for finding myself I cannot for the life of me remember my Username so all is lost, and it may well be I have confused myself with another forum altogether!!

Anyways it is all good as I now have established myself within this forum

As I found out as a 15 YO teenager when I started posting letters to the Editor of the local rag in the country town where I lived. Within  a few weeks, there were many other letters from the 'same named' gents who declared they were NOT responsible for the "Radical letters" opposing the Vietnam War ( Which Australia had joined in response to "All the way with LBJ". Another time , another issue …..
Anyway, thank you all for your welcome to this group.
So far my model railway foray exists in a collection of RTR Victorian Railways engines/(steam and diesel), rail motors and goods and passenger carriages.
My interest is VR 1955>1962 ish.
Needless to say, our various states railways were predominately modelled on British DNA although disagreement amongst the 6 states saw 3'6" (Narrow), 4'8 1/2" (Std) and 5'3" (Broad") guages being adopted.
What a confluted mess. (Thankfully now every capital city is connected via Standard guage).
 Enough of my waffling.

Interesting that they chose standard gauge for the links Bruce.  I can understand them not opting for narrow gauge but why not broad gauge ?  Brunel would have been delighted !!
