If I may?

I may be familiar to a few (very few) members of this Forum.  After many, many years, and some life-changing events, I am embracing the Hobby once again in a smaller way.

I was one of the small number of members of the old Barchester forum in the mid -1990s, and then I was "Admitted Member Number 5" (as the  founder, the late Bob Heath, warmly announced*) of this - the Your Model Railway forum,) and stumbled through a couple of other forums since.  Back then I modelled in HO, N and O scales in that order.  Famous for my "axe,"  many a layout of mine was chopped up publicly!  Much to the mirth of many.

It has been a challenging few years, and there are still a few hurdles to jump, but I am back, creating a layout again - but more of that later.

Scanning the membership list, I see many familiar names.  I look forward to catching up.  I'll get around to posting layout details in the next day or two.

(* Even though there were some fifteen "members" in the first few months of Your Model Railway!  Bob Heath admitted to us that he created quite a few fake members, all of whom posted regularly, to swell the group and attract others!)

Yes Tim ,I have seen elsewhere about your return.
Certainly many of the old YMR crew are no longer with us & the rest, we are getting a bit more mature in our years but still have the bloodlust about the hobby.

And I do remember fondly the "AXE"

Do you remember Brian Surgone - he is back here….

Hi Tim and welcome back from the wilderness.

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Good to see you back Tim.  I did worry a bit when you had some dodgy weather  in new jersey.   What are you up to modelling wise at the moment ?

Thanks, Reg!  :thumbs I've started on a long, and possibly longer shelf.  Take a look at my new thread.

Well now there's a blast from the past ………………….

As the Yorkshire half of me might say "Wheer hast tha bin since I saw thee" ?

Welcome "home" Tim - you have lots of catching up to do but then so have we - do tell…………..

Looking forward to catching up on your layout thread - I hope you don't mind but your axe has been used on several occasions and by several members (unfortunately, without your permission) whilst you were AWOL.  We did ask, but there was no reply ………………….
