Hello to you all.  I am based in Edinburgh having moved up from London nine years ago.  I took early retirement last year and that has given me more time to concentrate on my N gauge DCC layout called Elvenhome, that I have now been building for two years.  It is not based on anywhere in particular but located somewhere in the NE of England around about 1948-50ish. It is my first N gauge layout and only the second I have build, the first being thirty or more years ago at OO.  I am thoroughly enjoying the challenges of learning new skills, including scratch building station buildings, bridges and the like. At my wife's insistence I have been documenting the build of the layout on my YouTube channel and here is a link to the channel trailer (which needs updating!).  I have found the experience of keeping a channel running enjoyable in itself and spur to get on with doing things on the layout.   I look forward to learning from those with greater experience and skill and making my contribution where I can.

Hi Stephen it was good to meet you at the Perth show and I'M  glad you made it to YMR. I'll be taking a look at Elvenhome on your Youtube channel as soon as time permits !  Have a look round and shout out if you need any help finding anything  :)   Oh and dont forget to have a look at Marty's Newcastle Emlyn layout ( you will find it in one of the layout picture boxes on the right hand side of the screen)  As I said at Perth, How you guys work in n gauge I've no Idea !
Cheers

Hi Stephen and a welcome to YMRC. I enjoyed your introductory video to Elvenhome and will delve deeper soon.

Great progress getting trains running on a large layout so soon and even more respect for doing it in 2mm!

Enjoy your time here, as it's a cool place with some great modellers.

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)
