i started off with purchasing a second hand Bachmann LMS Ivatt. this had already been very nicely weathered by the previous owner.
so i sat for a while i wondered how was i going to improve this fantastic little model and put my stamp on it.
first off was to convert to DCC which was easy enough. then to add a crew as i hate to see loco's with a ghost crew.
so off to the internet to find the best looking crew i could find.
whilst trailing the internet i came across Miniature Artist, Sculptor, Model Maker and Heritage Craftsman. who produces some amazing figures in white metal. these where purchased painted, weathered and added.
then i moved back to the loco and broke out some more weathering powders, i only had to do a little.
i then wanted a working loco light. DCC concempts make some great products but i'm on a budget so i purchased a small yellow LED and made my own which i am quite pleased with. however i am aware that this is incorrectly positioned for a cattle train but hay ho.
so then back to the rake of cattle wagons. i set about purchasing them all from a very well known internet auction site. i wanted them to look unloved and well used. one of these wagons came already weathered by the http://www.theweatheringworks.co.uk/
because of the quality of the work and the knowledge that i am not upto the challenge of my own weathering at the moment, i sent the remaining wagons to http://www.theweatheringworks.co.uk/ who in turn went abve and beyond my expectations.
all that is left to do is to add a light to the rear of the brrake van with a guard.
i really should continue with actually laying some track in my loft.
so what do you think??
