I enjoy building kit wagons as I use Spratt and Whinkle couplings and with RTR stock I have to butcher the couplings off, which is a waste considering what the cost is today. Before I discovered Spratt and Whinkle couplings RTR was the norm. I still buy the occasional RTR.
And now a look at some of my kit built wagons, Mainly Parkside Dundas

Transfers are still a learning curve to me, with some misshaps along the way mainly dissolving transfers being the worst ones..

The Long wheelbase CCT wagons I put a compensating axle on one end.

I know it's Great Western but it is a nice wagon.

I must admit, This is one I really like. I have a sheet of lead flashing as a load for this..

Another favorite, I lost the weight transfers, I will sort some out…I  will also have to replace the tie bars with brass as the plastic ones  bend after a while.

Some great work there Sapper.  I like to upgrade RTR wagons as well as make kits (plastic and brass).  Parkside are very good as are Slaters, Cambrian and Chivers.
