Willow Tree's

Did a rummage around the local Car Wrecking Yard, was on the hunt for some suitable wiring looms that would suit the making of tree trunks.

Found said suitable items, and after wire stripping them and reworking into something of a suitable shape came up with these.
A good coating of car body filler was used for the covering.

May need another coat of body filler as you can still see the twists in the wiring underneath,
but then on the other hand when the greenery is added may not see it anyway.
Just depends on how pedantic I get I suppose….

Now just need to source the "greenery" (Thanks Gary for your suggestion) and, an appropriately coloured paint job.

Looking good Alan. But I'm sure they'll look a lot better with some foliage ! ;-) If you do apply another layer of car filler, just before it goes off, drag a small wire brush up the trunk to give them that stringy/tessellated bark look.

Cheers, Gary.

Again, very much appreciated Gary, now that would look great.
Have just the right small wire brush to use to Gary, the toothbrush sized one I use for cleaning the terminals on the car battery.
Either that or a "hard" toothbrush, would be easier to clean to…..

Looks good Alan.  If I might also offer you a tip… don't use your own toothbrush, use the wife's!

Yes Marty did look at your thread on the subject.

It gave me the basis for what I have done and and thank you for posting the thread as you did.

Biggest problem was what to use for the "greenery", but Gary put me on the straight and narrow and thats sorted now.

Had to order in what I was after and just awaiting its arrival.
