Hope you're OK Marty.

I see on the news there's been a big storm in Western Australia - in the Perth area to be more precise.

Hope you're OK where you are Marty and I'll bet you're pleased you're not front line SES now.

Just let us know you're OK when you can.

no need to be precise, it seems it stretched from Exmouth in the north right to the south, more than 1600km or 1000 miles at the same time! Some storm

Hi All,
All well here… no damage at my place… oh…. a pot plant blew over

My brother had his wood shed collapse onto his wood pile… knowing my brother the shed was put together from bits and pieces of tin salvaged from around his property. It it was lucky he would have used a couple of screws to hold it together

As storms go it was fairly kind to us… some serious damage to banana crops in Carnarvon, the usual homes and business without power for a while and the usual coastal erosion. A random shed roof that didn't belong to the electric utility in Kalgoorlie wrapped itself around their sub-station and put 50,000 homes into darkness but they had it operational again within 18 hours.

The weather was lovely prior to the storm, 27 deg C and calm, managed to get a paddle in on the river.

Now, however, winter has finally arrived and the showers are set to continue for the week and the temperatures have fallen to 16 deg C maximums.

The rain is welcome…

Mainly just training peeps in SES now… no more wet, dark and damaged roofs for me… :-)

Thanks for your concern.

Good to hear from you Marty and sorry about your brother's wood shed and the bananas !!!

Here, the media reported a massive storm - a 100 year event.

You tell us your brother's shanty wood shed was blown down and a banana tree was shredded …………………

I had visions of you hanging on to a telephone pole, being lashed by horizontal rain and 100 mph winds as cars, boats and bits of houses flew past your ears ……………….

Media hype yet again ………………………….

Hi Peter…. the MET boys here said that the incoming storm was a 1 in 5 year, maybe 1 in 10 year event if we were lucky… you can trust the media to spin up a story…
Mind you… the one 80km/h(ish) gust that shook our upstairs bedroom was pretty impressive.

But… no…. no bailing or telephone dancing
