A standard Peco 00 rail built buffer stop

To give a bit more room on tracks, I cut the long sections off to give:-

Painted

But with the D&S slowly removing buffers off rolling stock, there needs to be a further modification to protect couplers so gluing styrene of 2mm thickness onto the face

yes I know , it is OOF   but I will ( should ) get better as time marches on exclam:

Now painted & to be weathered

In this photo, there are a couple of coloured things in the background - one red and the other blue.  Are they point markers or something ?

I apologise for hijacking my own thread  but….

Peter, the switches that operate the points with that buffer stop to the left…

the switches are at the edge of the layout just like those on the RHS below

G'day Sol,

I thought I would hijack your thread and show off the Hornby buffer stops I modified. I thought the Hornby buffer stops were a tad too bulky and needed sliming down, not to mention the dodgy looking shiney black timber buffing plank. After a little modifying, addition of some shaped balsa and some paint, I think that they came up ok.

Cheers, Gary.

Hey Ron,

When are going to add lighting into the lamps on your buffer stops to add some more realism? You could do it easily with your wiring prowess!

Craig, I doubt many small stations would have used lights on the buffers - in fact I may have to remove some of the moulding that represents such things - now that you have brought it to my attention.
