Slow posting ....

Is it at my end but recently, it seems to take an absolute age to post replies to posts.

The site itself opens as it always did and I can move between topics without undue delay however, whenever I reply to a post, I could easily die before it arrives on the post.  In the past, there was no problem but, since about 2 weeks or so ago, I can certainly put the kettle on whilst waiting ……

Anyone else having similar problems ?

Same here.
Thought it was because since I haven't' posted for such a long time, that I've changed my computer and browser.

Obviously not.

I too have found when replying to a post- it seemed to take forever to process - now to see how this one goes.

Edit -  yep took approx 30 seconds.

Interesting - the edit worked ASAP  !!  go figure

Maybe the driver is on "go-slow" or there's leaves on the line …………………

Whatever, it's a bit of a PITA.

Hopefully, one of our whizz kids will sort things out before we take root ………..

p.s.  You're right Sol - I added that last sentence as an edit and it popped up good as gold ……………seems the problem is just with new posts.

Very slow for me too.
Is it perhaps because some of us don’t read all that quickly? :mutley

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

It's been slowing down over the past couple of weeks.  From noticeably more than "instant" posting to about 30 seconds a time now.
Maybe more than one hamster?  I hear compounding was popular with a certain company in the North Eastern quarter of England :mutley

For my recent post, I got the same sort of delay in the posting window, but meantime checking "New Posts" (in a second tab) it was already listed as present.

It seems that the delay which is occurring is in an action simply updating the posting window, even though the post itself has been accepted and listed by the system.

Thanks Colin I'll pass that on to Breakage. He's had a quick look and nothing obvious is happening. The Hamster is still breathing, and running happily on it's three remaining legs so he's going to try delving a bit deeper ( Always worries me when he says that especially if he reaches for a beer first )
Guys I know its a bit of a pain but bear with it. If This old bag of nuts was a car we would have gently patted the hood, wiped away a tear and quietly rolled her off to that great scrapyard in the sky a long time ago  ( Bit like most of US really !  )

In reading Colins helpful comments you COULD have two tabs open, and when you do a post just flip to the other tab and carry on, browsing  OR just have a gentle snooze while you wait. .

" Whats that dear ? Me asleep ? Definately not! I'm waiting for my post to load"  :mutley

Has someone just poked the fire ?

I've just posted something and it popped up almost before I'd finished typing ……………………….

On Edit - no, nothing's changed !!  It was a new thread I started that popped up almost immediately, posting on this thread still took almost till dawn ……………but this "edit" was quick !!  I don't understand - but then, that's nothing new for me ……………. :cool wink
