Actually I've Just found your first query as well so I'll try and go a bit deeper. As far as I'm aware there are no limits on PM's. Some members have been here a long time and probably have a high number of messages. As far as I know, none have reached any limit.   Images/ Photos :- At present we are ok for disk space on the forum, but being a high Image Forum have in the past come up against limits, which have then been upped.  We are working on solutions to mitigate this in the long term but have no issues at present. The prefered method at the moment is to upload Images to the Gallery and then link them in a post, rather than doing them as attachments or external links. One reason for this is that in the past a lot of Images were hosted from Photobucket and with their change in policy a few years ago it broke a large chunk of the forum posts which took quite a lot of work to fix ( work that is STILL ongoing) Also if someone has a photobucket, Flikr or another Account, that subsequently closes, or goes over whatever limit of the day they decide on, photos disappear or have a lovely watermark right across them.
Photos uploaded to the Gallery on the other hand remain there until either management or the OP remove them.
Videos are linked as normal, as we don't have a video store ( well we do, sort of, but thats a whole new headache on my list of to do's)
Please anyone feel free to contact myself, Barchester), Alan (Spurno),  Peter (Petermac) or Ron ( Sol), who are the Active Admin/ Moderators on the Forum and are more than happy to help out where needed,
Alan (Spurno) is Also the Webmaster/ Forum owner so the one to contact for a final Decision on anything Forum or Copyright related

So please anyone feel free to post a question or PM it if you wish  :thumbs

HTH

Cheers

On a side note, I was thinking how good members were being, NOT posting on the Forum maintenance Announcement, then I realized, I don't think you all CAN !!

….and I think we're drifting further and further from the original question and into banter.

Banter is good I like Banter  :chicken. Topic drift is also ok I think if the original Purpose has been fulfilled and you NEVER know where we might drift !   I quite understand staying reasonably on topic in someones personal layout thread etc as it's quite often a bit of a personal Journal/ Diary but I HAVE seen some Topics go Wayyy of course, under the instigation of the OP  :hmm
Anyway  :off topic

:nice

Back to trying to herd Cats

I's sure I wasn't the only one to try that. It was going to read something like, 'Yes Dad, I've done my homework, now I'm going out to play'.

Thank goodness the original OP's question has been answered and we can wander!

Best to all,

Bill

Well, strictly speaking, it wasn't.

The best anyone could offer was: more than the LMS's number of locomotives in 1923.

Well okay David, strictly no, so let's go with at last 43 pages of PMs, as Alan's response. I've been here a few years and am only up to 6 pages worth, so you shouldn't need to worry for a while yet.

Bill
