Stamford Bridge.
Classed as a "medium sized" station, the main buildings on this ex York and North Midland Railway (which was amalgamated into the North Eastern Railway in 1854 and was chaired by George Hudson, the "Railway King"), is a classic "Thompson" design.
The old track bed as seen on arrival from the York direction after crossing the previously posted iron viaduct. There was a siding on the right serving the short loading platform and a further one to the left behind the goods shed (the lean-to is a later addition):

The porter's and signalman's cottages stood on the opposite side of the tracks to the now demolished signalbox. Again, the leanto is a later addition:
They had an interesting chimney style:
And finally, just one single original gate remains as an entrance to the track-bed footpath :
