Island Platforms small canopies and stairwells limited waiting rooms
Hi Members I am still at the planning stage of my small layout, that is the problem??:???: small is beautiful, if you get it right. I do still want to build a Shunting Puzzle(with all the features you would expect to find in a yard) and I want minor stations. But I am considering basing my model "Loosely" on my local rail line that goes to London Bridge and passes through "South Bermondsey" a small unimportant station now, but in the past, there was a Junction Signal Box which contolled the traffic to the sidings, not just "Any Old Sidings" but the "Bricklayers Arms Goods Yard" quite a substantial site in its glory days, with several Sheds, MPD, all you could wish for, just about impossible to replicate in my small space. Not only that but the Whole Line through Peckham Rye to London Bridge is built either on a Viaduct or Emankment and the Station Canopies have been modernised beyond recognition. Any help would be gratefully received. all the best to everyone Kevin

There is a whole forum dedicated to the 'Bricklayers Arms Goods Yard', see here :

As for pics of the station, there are a few on this site, but none of the old canopies. On page 6, you'll find a complete plan of the Bricklayers Arms yard.
Cheers, Gary.

Substantial isn't quite the word, enormous comes to mind.

I would think the best you could do is a representation of part of it.
