File extension error

Using the same method of posting as I normally use, I just keep getting the above message. I've tried posting them as jpeg, jpg and gif. I've resized them to around 80kb in the fpeg and jpg format and tried to put them up via the attachment window. I get this message every time, no matter what I do.

Is there a limit to how many pic's I can have on the site?

I'd appreciate some help.

Are you sure the file has a valid file name and the extension is dot (.)jpg

I'm embarrassed to have to say, that when I resized and renamed the photo's, I didn't include .jpeg after the name. I've been trying to get on the site since yesterday, but something was wrong. Anyway, I'm on now and I'll get posting those photo's.
