Replicating the signal box layout

I've just spent the last 12 months putting together a system of communication across my railway that essentially mimics four signal boxes. At the same time upgrading my switching system to work with it. Compromises have had to be made but it seems to be working across my railway and giving an added interest to running services. The beauty of this system is that it is not gauge dependant.

Watched the follow up video as well, absolutely brilliant  :thumbs

Although with the blocks being so short on any model railway, there will be a lot of bell ringing to get a train along a short distance.

Reckon it will keep you fit Brian, running between the four signal boxes

Hi Brian. Excellent video, I haven’t got any form of  signalling  on my “planks/Modules “ yet. come to that I have stalled on the scenery. But may I enquire how many signal operators would you have running your Layout?    Best wishes Kevin

In theory it would take 5 folk to operate the system. I have 4 signal box systems that I built and are part of the video. Also there is an article in a past Gauge O Gazette magazine describing its construction and of course its on my website. It took a fair bit of collaboration with small business folk selling electronic control boards for the control of the semaphore signals but it will also work a lot easier with colour light signals as well. The over riding theme of this project was to see if a low budget system for non electronics experts would suffice and it certainly does in my book!

I've also started on Gauge 1 with radio control, but it seems a house move is now going to get in the way for a couple of months. The gauge 1 railway is to be completely dismantled. Moved and then redesigned and rebuilt!!!!!! as the last one was 10 years in the making don't hold your breath for this next one to go live!!!!

Hi Brian. Thank you for your reply. Since returning the model Railways, I have been looking for a house, somewhere in Kent, I should be so lucky? There is no problem with %20 here. The problem was that you had a trailing line-feed character on the URL.
