Slaters Plastikard

Hi All.   I am attempting to glue very flimsy Plastikard to plywood without the possibility of either melting the plastic , or becoming brittle and falling off??? Would one , or more , of you kind Modellers please advise me. Best wishes. Kevin

I used Evo-stick Impact adhesive (and cheaper Wilko's version) to laminate plasticard to card, foamboard and plywood without too many problems. Evo-stick Impact Glue doesnt like getting warm though so needs to be out of direct sunlight. It tends to return itself back to the gooey substance it was!!
I have also used "No More Nails" which worked quite well.

Epoxy glues might also work well, and possibly Copydex or Gorilla glue. I think as long as the glue is not solvent based, it wont melt it. 

I am sure more experienced/better qualified members might be able to offer better advice.

Hi Ian.   Thank you for your reply.  My “favourite  adhesive “ is Araldite , but, I have never tried it on flimsy stuff like that from Slaters, and I didn’t want to gamble on it.  Best wishes. Kevin

if you have problems with evostick or the like in hot weather, then look up" high temperature impact adhesive" it's what they use to attach materiels to the inside of cars and they get hot!! it's not that much more expensive than normal evostick..

I find B&Q etc had a huge range of adhesives. I found some Epoxy "Metal" adhesive which is great for fixing magnets etc. I will be certain they would have the High Temp stuff. Failing that, probably Halfords - or just try Amazon or Ebay!!

Sorry I haven't been in a halfords for years, I stopped going when they became a bicycle shop (and that's a long time ago). I just do the amazon thing these days… you might need a car trim place or possibly a boat trim suppliers if there is one near you.

Hi Q.  Thank you. After receiving a letter from an “ unheard mobile phone company “ demanding money from me in 2017 , I have avoided using my card online with eBay and Amazon I try to phone a supplier offering either a cheque or BACS payment .If that company don’t cooperate then they don’t get my business , it would seem that one becomes vulnerable online and mobile phone companies are not that fussy over security checks.  Best wishes.
