Platform canopies for Exeter St David's in OO

Any suggestions on how to acquire some platform canopy supports that look like these? I think they need to be c50mm high for oo gauge - my model of exeter is 'impressionist' rather than precisely accurate so i can be a bit flexible.

I would say that Hornby platform columns with built in canopy supports come pretty darn close. Ain't cheap though so try second hand on Ebay.

You may have noticed a post in the pic above.??? The platform awning   posts that come with the kit are obviously made from card…..they are   very thin and very fragile and they don`t look very good.

So I`m trying this method…….it`s all metal….will outlast religion   and the next ice age…..and Yes!!!….it`s a bicycle spoke with it`s   nut attached.!!
