Hi All,

it is not a joke, it was reality for more than five years.

At the Ahrensburg Railway Station on the Mainline between Lübeck and Hamburg the german State Railway DB AG decided renew Interrior of the in 1864 built Railway Station and closed it during it was under construction.

As replacement for a short time of before planned four months they putted an office container ahead the railway station.

After removing a wall inside the station building it gave static problems with the old building and the construction authority closed the construction works for more than five years.

The office container was the place where people boufht their train tickets, network weekly or monthly tickets and booked railway journeys for more than five years.
The place inside was very restricted for customers, not more than one person could be inside, all the others needed to wait outside.

Onto bigger railway stations the state railway did the same when renewing the interrior of the older stations.

In countryside towns on before abendoned or out off duty railway lines such containers became modern station building when the older before built railway stations had been sold to public investors or private people.

The railway station of Bad (Bath) Segeberg got such containers as new station building. The old building had been sold allready.
The before railway line had been re-opened a few years before.

It could be a nice Idea for modelling to use such containers or more of them close to each other as modern era railway station buildings?

Best regards,
Yours Ingo
