For automotive plastic

Hi All. I had the misfortune to knock a brake van off the bench, so I decided to scratch build a wagon body, to no particular diagram, just to suit me. Now for the paint job? I have a can of Halfords grey primer from another job,To spray paint should I remove the wheels and cover up the bearings? And how?  Best wishes Kevin

You may not have to remove wheels if you mask carefully but if not, have a read of these  found by Googling

Hi Kevin,

Pop the wheels and axles off, cut some small squares of masking tape, cover axles holes, spray. I usually put the model on top of an empty tin. Peel off when dry. The wheels hide the small area of the inside that was covered by the tape. If you can't pop the wheels and axles, cut a piece of masking tape long enough to go around one short and one long side. Cut slots where the axles are, slide in between the wheels and the back of the axle boxes. Repeat for the other 2 sides. Reinforce with smaller pieces of masking tape. Couple of light coats is much better than one heavy coat.

Hi Nigel. Thank you very much.  I have a cake icing stand that never got used for the original purpose. I can pop the wagon on that.  Best wishes Kevin

Hi Nigel. Thank you. But I am still on the hunt for a baking tin, or a recipe to suit my ingredients of the correct dimensions for the tin that I have already purchased.  Best wishes Kevin
