Hmm - not a narrow-minded modeller are you Graham ……………………

I like your "Ace Cafe" - I suspect you won't remember it in its hayday of the 50's and 60's before it became a "brand".  It was as famous as the A1or Marble Arch themselves.  Many people from "up north" timed their journeys by "how long did it take you to get to London  ? - x hours from here to the Ace Cafe" …………………..

hi Peter. Thanks. I know what you mean about the ace. I’ve never been with me being from northern England but I’ve read a lot about it. My models just spring to mind, I get an idea and just make something. I’ve done a hearse for the queens funeral. A Vietnam diorama, only fools and horses with a reliant robin to name a few.

Quick update on the skips. From bright yellow to looking used. Painted with burnt sienna and burnt umber, just a dry brushing to get the effect. Then loaded a few with scrap, aluminium is the top of a coke can cut into small pieces with scissors and the copper is stripped wire cut into small chunks.

Cement industry on the extension. Made from a shampoo bottle top, the track was weathered with dry poly filler and ready mixed filler watered down a bit.

I do wish I’d have made it on the 800 mm shelf now. ( the main shunting yard is 600 and the extension is 200)
I may at some point connect the two together permanently by bracing them underneath.but I’ve made two covers from Perspex for them so I’d have to make a new cover to fit the entire thing.
