Colin builds again...

The motive power depot on Col's layout lacked an example of the ubiquitous 0-6-2 big Prairie so loved by the Welsh Valley lines.





Why pay in the region of £90 for a commercial model? Our lad prefers to build his own!
Starting with a chassis picked up at a local toy fair, it was given a plasticard footplate:






The body was also constructed from some of Mr Slaters excellent produce:






Then the boiler was made up from suitable dimensioned copper piping:







Other ancillary bits and bobs were added :





Then it was off to the paint shop for a quick spray job and the requisite transfers.
Here is the finished 56 outside the shed waiting to do duty in the coal fields of the Principality….

Hi Shaun,

Another nice example of the work of Bodgit and Wingit from Colin. Certainly looks ready to pull a few coal wagons. Looks like Colin likes plumbing supplies for boilers as much as I do.

An 0-6-2 is not a Prairie, they are known as a Webb or a  Branchliner. A Prairie is a 2-6-2.

Oh my…. that is VERY neat and tidy for N scale. Please pass on my admiration to Colin for a fabulous example of the class. 

If only it were as easy as a few photographs !!  Difficult enough in any scale but in N, that's an amazing bit of modelling.   :pathead
