If you're interested, take a look !

I have just listed 6 x vintage Triang locomotives (some Australian Triang), 1 x Triang Class 101 DMU, 1 x  Triang locomotive and matching coaches (Trans Australia) and a two lots of spare parts on ebay…

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281384542234?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Take a look with this link then click 'see sellers other items' if you are interested. I'll be auctioning off other vintage Triang and Triang/Hornby in the coming weeks. If anyone is interested in my other non listed items, a few steam locos and a variety of wagons, I can prepare a list and post it here.

Cheers, Gary.

I think it was Bing Crosby who sang, "Thanks for the memory"?

I had the 101 DMU and it had knurled wheels that were supposed to make it sound like the "real" thing!

Thankyou, a nostalgia trip does no harm whatsoever!

Regards, Peter.

Each can do but little, BUT if each did that little all would be done!

I've got one of those too. It runs fine but doesn't like modern track.

This is the main reason for the sale. Atleast it will allow me to purchase a few new locomotives such as the Beattie Well Tank that Kernow Model Centre is doing a re-run of.

I just wonder if the modern models will still be working in 50-60 years time ???

Peter,

I'm happy that I could bring back a good memory and a smile for you !

Cheers, Gary.

Thanks Ed, I've still got 4 days to go, so it will be interesting to see what people are willing to pay for such items. I have had interest from a UK dealer of all things Triang. This chap is desperate to collect any Triang Australia models as he believes that no-one here in Australia wants them and is more interested in Triang from Margate !

You do realise that I'll be kicking myself in a few years time, when some of these models will command a high price…

Cheers, Gary.

Luck of the draw Gary.

You could advertise them in a couple of years time and not get a single bid.

Who knows.

Would have thought anyone in the UK would be put off by postage costs.

Postage costs are not that excessive from Australia. I checked it out and you would be looking at approx. £10.00-13.00 to your door step and that is for a good sized box ! Unfortunately we souls down under have to pay that (sometimes less) for anything from the UK !

Cheers, Gary.

Now that Royal Mail has been privatised, hold onto your hats for steep price rises.

We have that too down under, although not at your 20%, yet ! Luckily for us, we don't have to pay your GST (VAT) when purchasing from UK hobby shops.

I think most imports under around £50 don't attract either VAT or Duty.  At least that was the case when UK wasn't so broke …………….:roll:

I think that applies to stuff bought in the EU Petermac. (Free trade between member states and all that), although I think that is being looked into. You can guarantee that if the government wants to grab even more money from us they will find a way, after all they have to fund their duck houses somehow.

Stuff bought within the EU should never attract either Duty or VAT Mick.  When buying from another EU country, you pay the VAT in the supplying country and trade within the EU is Duty free from one member state to another - that's what it's all about ……….:roll:

When I buy from UK for shipping to France, I pay normal UK VAT but there's never any Import Duty.

If I buy from the States, I often have the goods sent to UK first because "small packets" don't normally attract either VAT or Duty whereas here in France, they do.  Onward posting from UK to me is free of all taxes and duties.  Often, the extra postage is less that the taxes and duties.

As you say, the situation with "Non EU" trade could change in UK but, to date, I've never had any problems.

Thanks for sorting that Petermac. Looks like the MP's will have to find other ways to finance their duck houses. Oh, almost forget, they have, it's called expenses.

Just adjust the back-to-back to between 14.2 - 14.5 mm it should then run through peco code 100 points
