Hi Doug,

I was tempted, but then I had to add the $950 airfare to have a look at it and kick the tires, and then there is the shipping cost back to the US (plus whatever import tariff gets slapped on - made in the EU? Coming from the UK? And it's wood? Hmm.).

Nice looking board with all the hard work done and a real bargain at £60.00. And it would fit in the back of the 'Onda with the seats up.

Hi Doug. An excellent design, I wish that I had thought of that first. My idea was a toolbox, with two lids? the bottom one to keep the wires safe from the weather.  Best wishes Kevin

Wow, I didn't know that. Mind you, my 1980s twin track unit still works as good as it always has and just as well, as I've no idea where the original packaging or invoice is!

Hope it all works out well for you Doug.

All works fine Doug got it out of the storage box and fired it up .

Swapsy  complete met Doug and his wife at deepest darkest Liskeard  we managed to get out before being eaten.

Lovely well built baseboard very pleased with it.

Really nice to see Bisto still going strong he is a lovely little dog who was the mascot at the YMR show all those years ago.

Now i have the problem of exactly what i am going to build on the baseboard it will be N gauge i have for years thought about building Perranporth station but to date have not done it i need to do a bit of research to check dimentionally i can fit it in which i think i can.

Well done Brian and Doug and honourable mentions for other cast members there present!

So good to see a happy ending, not forgetting a new beginning, as a germ of a western layout sees a light at the end of a tunnel  :)

Onwards both.

Best,

Bill

How very Poop-poop!

So glad it didn't end up at the tip, seeing Brian again brought back some great memories.
Better get on and drill some more holes in the walls for more brackets….

 [Thanks Bill]

I have great memories too.   Wonder if we could do it again?   A few new names but some of the old team would probably turn out.

I doubt if anything on that scale and size could be done again Reg that was really a one off and bear in mind we did get a lot of trade support assisting in making it happen.

That said there is no reason why a village hall somewhere could not be hired for a weekend and it could be a members and friends weekend where members could bring some layouts and you could have workshop and instruction sessions as we have many experts in different  fields of the hobby within this group.
