I've already got the parts on order or in the box 1 length of 2mm ID brass tube, 0.5mm black plasticard parkside coupling box for plug in coupler and a small piece of lead to hold the whole lot down on the track.
The tubing will be hot glued into a styled plasticard box the bogie will carry a coupling that will be fixed once the bogie has been constructed all very simple stuff just like making the parts for a construction kit, I can't wait to start. :thud

Hi Bob,

Use brass sheet, not styrene, it will warp.

The method described by Rob Evans uses a Bachmann 4-4-0 Pilot truck, rewheeled. This a readily available spare over here, $8.80 from Bachmann in PA. Have you looked at similar in the UK - City for example? Or a Dean single.

Hi Bob,

On a hunch I checked out my brass etch of a SR Wainright H class 0-4-4T, ex SECR. The bogie has 20mm centers. Horny did this model. If you cannot find one I can scan the etch and or send the measurements.

Edit: What about an M7 bogie?l

I'd certainly be interested in seeing your construction of the 0-4-4, as I may wish to make one. I've just started modelling Collingbourne, to be followed by Ludgershall..  (in EM)

Now I've finally started a model railway…I've inherited another…
