I see RR&Co have just announced a new version with a new twist - you  can pay for the upgrade now even though it won't be available for some  time.  The benefit?  apparently you will be able to use the new version a  month before the officail release…..

Upgrade for Gold users USD $129

For advanced users it does appear to have some new useful features - I'm reading the small print in the PDF file

Thanks for the heads up Dave:thumbs

Its been over 5 years so I guess an update was about due………………..Having skimmed the PDF I think you are right….. there are a number of useful innovations which I certainly could use…….I think some of the logic used in my shunting sequence is now obsolete!

Kind Regards

Version 8.0A3 is now available.  This is the "general release" version that once again supports demo mode.

Note that if you display the download page on the TC website, and it shows 8.0A2, then you need to refresh the page, as IE is displaying a version of the page retrieved from your PC's cache.  That's caught me a couple of times …

Word of warning - updating to Version 8 automatically rests any settings you had for speed profiling.

I made the mistake of only resetting the blocks but not the block lengths  and didn't realised it until after completing the profiling and watched the loco running around the layout at a scale speed of 120 kph  when it was supposed to be doing 60kph…………………:oops::oops:

That's a bit of a pain, Dave.  Changing Block lengths resets the speed profile?

Not quiet Max -  the upgrade reset the block length to 100cm ( which is most probably a default )   My block length is 175 cm Since  the software is just a fancy calculator that measures time to travel a set measurement - if the measurement is wrong then the results will be wrong - result one incorrectly profiled loco .

I'll be starting a new Track Plan, so that should be OK then.

Yes Max you'll be fine as you will need to set up everything from scratch -  just a trap for those of us that have set up everything prior to the upgrade

Thanks Robert:thumbs

I have been using the "Change Description" document up until now, so it will be good to have it all in one PDF file.
