Locos heading off in the wrong direction

Using TC Silver

Hi Guys, this may be an old chestnut but it's certainly bothering me.  Running TC Silver, I was moving a couple of diesel locos from one siding to another.  Using "Drag and drop", I was  expecting a loco to leave a siding but it headed off into the buffer.  A few minutes later a different loco in a different siding, headed away from the siding instead of moving to a different block, deeper in the siding.  One loco was a Bachmann model, the other Heljan, so it can't really be a loco/decoder issue.  Thinking back, I believe this also happened a good while ago and I simply turned the loco around by hand and all was well.  Of course if was a steam loco or hauling a train, things would be much more serious.  Any advice is welcome.  Regards Charlie

Sounds like the actual orientation of the engine does not match what TC thinks it is.  The easiest way to solve it is to right-click on the block containing the loco and select "reverse train orientation".

Yes.  It might have been when the loco was first assigned to the Block.

Occasionally TC gets confused and reverses the train orientation and it is very easy for the user to set up the orientation incorrectly when assigning a loco to a block……particularly diesels or when a train set is assembled

Rather than the default straight on icons if you use Train Animator to produce icons that broadly represent the shape of the locos and cars it is easy to check if the train set is orientated correctly in both the block diagram and traffic control

Many thanks for your advice.  What I have now done is, on the underside of each loco at the left-hand end, I’ve placed a yellow sticker so I can't place locos down facing the wrong direction.  It's also the same orientation as when I carried out the speed profiling. Hopefully this should help cure the snag.  Regards Charlie
