Snaffled ( sort of stolen, ...not illegally though )
We ( the missus and I ) sent away for a Stobbart truck as advertised in a newspaper. It was a gift for our daughters partner who is Stobbart daft.Anyway to cut a long story short, the said gift was greatly appreciated and we thought that would be it over.
Not the case, this morning the postie came and guess what ? Another Stobbart wagon. The suppliers had decided that we may want to be in the " collectors club " and had dispatched an offer of an Atkinson Borderer article and flatbed trailer in 1 / 76 th scale.
You could return it if you did not want it but by this time, I snaffled the lorry, my son snaffled the Stobbart coffee mats and the missus was left with the £ 20.00 bill. ( £ 15.00 plus £5.00 postage ). After all she had organised the original deal and her name was on the bill. It only seems fair doesn't it !!!!
She also has the privilege of paying for next months offering of an AEC Ergomatic tipper in the same scale which I have told her that " she also wants".
Fantastic. Only gripe is that they are fixed to display plinths which I will need to butcher in order to use on the layout as the fixings don't appear to be remove able , a very weird set up indeed. Never mind .
These models are excellent and very true to detail. Well worth the wife's money.

I guess I should remind her of my liking of the Dapol Class 22, before she reads this…

I thought that class 22 would have been en-route by now……..especially when you had encouragement from the wife.
It was payday for me on Thursday and I had a little bonus in the packet so…………5 no from the A4 great gathering collection are on their way.
Sir William Whitelaw
Sir Nigel Gresley
Union of South Africa
Dominican of Canada
The Commonwealth of Austrialia ( hope I spelt that right )
Two of the above come DCC fitted from The Model Centre the other three are DCC ready from Rails of Sheffield.
That's it for the moment…….the spending must stop otherwise the actual layout is going to be further postponed. Not to mention a new watch that the wife wants for her birthday next month. No complaint………I think she deserves it.
Anyway, I better get back to work for now. Don't hesitate with the 22 they are worth the money.
Cheers

I could run it in for you Gary …………:thumbsWell then Peter, I'll have to order a Class 22 and see if the delivery can be sent via France for you to have a play before it lands in Australia, just like the magazine…
Cheers, Gary.

I wish, but with the direction the Aussie dollar is heading, runaway wagons roll slower down hill ! I just have to be careful on spending at the moment, as I have two other locos on order. Waiting, waiting, waiting !!
Peter,
While it's with you, I wouldn't mind sound in it as well as a good run in ! ;-);-)
Cheers, Gary.
