Just to whet your appetites,  Della and I are in Berwick upon Tweed for a couple of days and guess what pulled out of the station as we crossed the bridge!

Story and a brief video to follow when we get home over the weekend.

Well that's us home from a pretty wet and windy few days in Berwick on Tweed, lovely place, lovely folk, but not the best time of year to visit.

Anyway, we were crossing the bridge over the station and I noted a rake of what I recognised only as old coaches, as we rounded the corner Della said that she could see smoke and steam and pretty much demanded that I get her closer to the line  (and she calls me a geek!)

Not having a clue where I was going I took a sharp right and headed thru a housing estate at warp speed and eventually happened upon a wee stone bridge over the line.  There was already 4 or 5 guys there but space for us, and just time to whip the phone out and get some footage.  Not great and as you can hear it was very, very windy.

Eyes streaming from the wind and smoke, we headed back to the hotel for a well earned cuppa.

Really you have Della to thank for this so enjoy

See I told you Lawrence, these steam engines are a thing of great beauty and much better than those tin boxes on wheels they use in America ……

Hello Lawrence,
Many Thanks to you both for the video. Incidentally, you've taken cover behind which side of Hadrian's Wall, ours or yours? If ours we urgently need to discuss the Annual/Monthly Insurance Premiums, now due, because "BOTH" sides belong to us, :It's a no no:lol::lol: Plus, there's an Added Surcharge if "Defending you, from yourselves"
Kind Regards,

PS:- In England we've adopted your policy :patheadof "Deep Pockets - Short Arms" :cheers

Now you mention it Michael, isn't there officially still a war on about Berwick, don't they want to move to Scotland but England wont let them, something like that.  I know they are the only English football team to play in the Scottish leagues.

Hello Lawrence,
By-gad, sir, you were fast out-of the blocks. I do an edit to insert "smileys", come-back to find you've already answered. True about Berwick, it changed-hands so often the inhabitants didn't know whether they were called Arthur or Martha, Johnson or Johnstone, Murray or Murrey. The foot-ball team, Berwick Rangers transferred to the Scottish League to save on travelling-costs,
                         Kind Regards,
                      Michael Thornberry.
